Announcing the Waterloo Warbirds Air Show

BRESLAU, ON – Waterloo Warbirds is flying into summer by offering a unique weekend of aviation that kicks off with a boutique-style air show at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. The aviation weekend will run from June 26th to June 28th, offers tourists a chance to come for one event but stay for the weekend; and explore Waterloo region. As a global aviation ambassador to this region, it was imperative Waterloo Warbirds approached the weekend’s independent events with the level of innovation this region embodies.

The Waterloo Warbirds Air Show weekend engages collaborative efforts with other agencies and businesses to deliver exclusive air displays with separate, highly interactive ground events, and opportunities to explore the region. The events start with ticket holders enjoying a 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM air show on both Friday and Saturday that crosses from evening to twilight to nighttime, with fantastic acts flying in each time slot, aerial performers, and a fireworks display to close out the show. The Waterloo Warbirds Air Show will showcase the only nighttime performance currently available in Ontario. This 19+, upscale air show experience is filled with elements that make it the perfect date night under the stars for some, or an unmatched evening of impressive entertainment for corporate appreciation outings, aviation enthusiasts, and exclusive-event seekers alike.

The initial line-up includes such acts as:

  • Canadian Forces Snowbirds
  • Canadian Forces F-18 Demo Team
  • Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team
  • Wild Blue Rodeo
  • Ghostwriter Air Shows
  • Waterloo Warbirds

“Aviation is an intrinsic part of this region, its economic success, and its communities. Beyond the airport, aviation-based businesses, research and development, and manufacturing companies make this industry a cornerstone of future opportunity, right in the hometowns of our youth,” said Executive Producer, Ramona Ostrander. “It was important to ensure a variety of experiences were incorporated into the design of this weekend-long event to ensure each day brought a unique focus to what aviation offers, and to whom.”

Saturday evening, the skies will roar to life again for the second 19+ air show, identical to the stunning air show delivered on Friday.

A region-wide Aviation Celebration Parade will take place on Sunday, June 28th starting at 2pm. This parade not only honours the 50th Performance Season of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds but brings the thrill of an air display out of the airport and over backyards, cities and townships across our region. Stay tuned for details as they develop on this FREE family-friendly event.
